• Broadland District Council
Local Plan 2004 •
August / September 2003

Broadland District Council is currently preparing the Local Plan for the District, and some of you may know that a number of representations have been made proposing the inclusion of several sites within the civil parish of Coltishall.

For your convenience I am listing the various sites. The representations all suggest that these sites be added to the Development Boundary of the village for residential purposes. The sites are:

1. An area of land on the north side of the Bure Valley railway, between Rectory Road and North Walsham Road, for one house. This site has been proposed for some time and several parishioners have already written in support. Site No154/001/001.

2. The triangular area of land immediately north of Site 1, between Rectory Road and North Walsham Road up to the Ling Way Crossing. Site No 232/001/001.

3. A small area of land in St John’s Close opposite the school. Site No 186/001/002.

4. An area of land just south of The Railway tavern on Station Road, currently used as a vehicle scrap yard. Site No 131/002/003.

5. A small area of land, between Holy Trinity Church and the new Guide building on the Hautbois Road, currently tree planted to the west and used as a car park for users of the church. Site No 186/001/001.

Broadland District Council will welcome your views on any of the above sites. They should be in writing, addressed to Mr Roger Burroughes, Planning Policy Manager, and sent to him not later than 27th August.

If you wish to inspect the plans, this may be done at Broadland, telephone 01603 431133 and ask for Planning Policy, Local Plan. You may also contact me or any of the Parish Councillors for further information. Our telephone numbers are listed in The Marlpit.

For the peace of mind of Horstead residents I am able to inform you that no representations have been made in respect of Horstead.

Alan S Mallett
Broadland District Councillor for Coltishall Ward
