| The
coming weeks look set to be very busy for all the
members, with trips organised to Buckingham Palace,
the Cromer Pier Show and a guided tour of Norwich
Cathedral.
The ladies were transported back to the 17th century
with 21st century technology. John and Mick, two employees
of Colmans of Norwich presented a PowerPoint display
(for the uninitiated, slides via a computer!!). The
original owner, Jeremiah James, was a philanthropic
business man who during the late 1890’s not
only employed 3,000 people but also provided a school
and a works canteen. The whole Carrow Road site was
totally self-sufficient with its own print works,
maintenance and barrel making shops. The mysteries
of mustard production were then explained to the ladies
and finally images of the modern site were shown.
It was a very interesting and informative talk which
was rounded off with every member receiving a sample
of mustard.
The next meeting will be a garden party at the home
of Chris Hubbard. Please see below and come along
and enjoy Chris’ beautiful garden and pray for
fine weather.
