August / September 2003

What a lovely day we had for our SUMMER FAYRE when we raised over £500 for the work of the Salvation Army in Coltishall. Thank you to all of you who came along and supported us.

Our Coffee Evening in August will be held at 81 Arthurton Road, Spixworth on Tuesday, 12th commencing at 7pm and there will be a cake stall and a bring and buy stall. You will be very welcome at this Coffee Evening to raise funds for the Salvation Army in Coltishall.

September is our Annual Appeal month when we will be knocking on your door to ask for a contribution to the work of The Salvation Army in the United Kingdom. The theme this year is ‘Belief in Action’ which reflects the fact that we are a Christian church that is putting its belief into action within the community. We have over 80 residential centres and many more community based programmes. Next to Social Services the Salvation Army is the largest Social Work organisation running Addiction Services, Children and Families Services, Community Services, Elderly Care Services, Emergency Services, Homelessness Services, Life Long Learning, National Monitoring and Evaluation Scheme, Prison Ministries, Red Shield Defence Services, Special Needs Services and Health Care. Please give generously to help the continuation of this vital work.

The Over 60’s Club will take place each Monday in August and September EXCEPT the Bank Holiday Monday 25th August commencing at 2.30pm. Enquiries contact Anne Beaver – 737326.
