| The Friends held a film
show on Saturday, 20th October in the Village Hall,
Coltishall and raised the sum of £169 for use
in the two surgeries. Despite the poor weather a good
attendance watched the archive films, generally of Norfolk,
Suffolk and Essex, ably shown by Alice, a presenter
with East Anglian Film Archives. The films showed life
as it really was, what the people did, clothes they
wore and jobs at which they worked. For some of those
present it brought back memories of life in the countryside
and for others a fascinating insight into some old work
practices. Refreshments were served at half time.
The Friends are grateful to the East Anglian Film
Archive and to the wonderful support shown by those
who attended.
