The Norfolk Churches Sponsored Cycle Ride took place on Saturday 8th September 2001. The event was well supported. Total cash raised for Coltishall and Great Hautbois churches and The Norfolk Churches Trust was £414.60.

I would like to thank members of 'The Friends of Coltishall Church' who work very hard at raising money for Church Fabric and also the eight local cyclists raising money for Church Funds, which helps to pay everyday bills.

The ride started in the rain, however the weather did improve, apart from a very strong wind, and the cyclists did very well. Jill and Michael visited 32 churches, Mick did 24, Robert, our local pharmacist, who was riding for Coltishall and Horstead managed 27. Sue, Claire, Bethany and Iris only managed 11 (this was put down to the wind not their the lack of fitness).

Thank you to all the good folk who spent the day sitting in the churches recording all cyclists, your help is invaluable.

The total amount raised in Norfolk for 2000 was £107,500.
