• Line Dancing Is Good For You

December 2002 / January 2003

And that's official. The health benefits of Line Dancing are widely known with the activity being recommended by the British Medical Council, the British Heart Foundation and local GP referral schemes. The age range of dancers often spans three generations with grandchildren dancing alongside their grandparents.

Unlike many other forms of dance, Line Dancing does not require a partner. It is a very sociable activity with hundreds of events and holidays throughout the year. Line Dancing is a worldwide activity, and is enjoying huge popularity at the moment in Singapore where 11,967 dancers gathered together recently to break the World Line Dance Record.

A new 'Complete Beginners' class will be starting at Horstead Tithe Barn on Tuesday, 7th January from 7 - 8 pm and is suitable for total beginners or those who have some experience but have subsequently 'fallen by the wayside' and are happy to start again at beginner level.

I should like to wish a very Happy Christmas and New Year to everyone who has supported the class throughout the year and hope to see you all again on the 7th January when the Intermediate class recommences from 8 - 9 pm. Class costs are £3 per evening and all you need is a comfortable pair of shoes and a sense of humour.
