The Silent Tribute and Exhortation were led at our January meeting by the Chairman, Mr Bob Jennings.

A report from the Welfare Secretary, Mrs Margaret Montgomery, showed that during the past year she had assisted members or their dependants with applications for Attendance Allowance. She has also assisted in the compilation of other forms and in one case was able to resolve a housing problem.

Fruit boxes have been delivered to housebound members and cards and gifts were delivered to some members at Christmas. Visits, with cards and gifts for Christmas and birthdays were made to our five adopted residents in Halsey House the RBL home in Cromer).

Thanks were expressed for the work being carried out by Mrs Montgomery ,and we remind members and their dependants that if they feel they would benefit by a visit from Mrs Montgomery they should ring her.

Our warmest thanks are due to the Fitzmaurice Trust and to our President, both of whom have made a generous donation to our funds.

A report on the recent Group 5 meeting was given by the Chairman and our Branch will be submitting a resolution at the Annual County Conference on 19th January.

Warmest wishes for a happy New Year to all Marlpit readers.
