Christmas started in late November when a party of ladies enjoyed an excellent Christmas meal at the Weavers Arms, Swanton Abbott.

The December meeting continued the party mood when husbands, partners and toy-boys joined the ladies for a buffet supper in the Village Hall. Entertainment was provided by Dorothy and Betty, experts in ‘Mardling’. They provided a light-hearted look at being a ‘Domestic Operative’. The evening concluded with a monster raffle – no-one went home empty handed.

A very varied and interesting programme has been put together for the New Year and a warm welcome awaits members new and old on the third Wednesday of each month in the Church Rooms, Rectory Road.
