July 2002

The Editors were pleased to publish, in the June Marlpit, the letter from Paul Heffer, Secretary of Coltishall Colts Football Club. We feel certain that the comments by the CCA regarding contributions towards the use of the pitch were directed more to the senior teams.

Whilst it was impressive to learn that in 1995, the Colts had 5 league teams and over 100 boys on the books, it was difficult to understand how in 6 years, this had reduced to only one team.

Surely with the World Cup and the progress made by Norwich City last season, there must be many local boys (and girls) very interested in football.

When effort has been made by people like Paul to provide a facility such as this, then it must be worth while to provide both help and enthusiastic youngsters to ensure that it can continue.

If you are either interested, as a parent or adult, in assisting in any way, or if you are a youngster keen to play local football, then please give your name, telephone number and address (and age for players) to Paul, telephone 738675.
