• Service, What Service •

July 2002

Over the Anniversary weekend, my wife and I went away and returned on Tuesday from London in plenty of time to catch the 14.45 Bus Number 35A, which comes through Horstead. We waited at the Bus Stop in Norwich from 14.20 to 15.15 but, surprise, the bus never came. By this time we just wanted to get home after a long trip from Bournemouth by train. As we dare not chance waiting for the 16.45 we tried to get a taxi but no luck, so we had to ring our daughter, who that day had to drive all the way home from Bournemouth to come and pick us up.

The sad thing is the 35 route is just awful. Over the past few months buses are late, the 12.30 on may trips never turns up. So another hour has to be waited until the next one comes.

If Sandeson are unable to run a reliable service that's on time and turns up, then let somebody else take over the route. Maybe then we will not have to ride in double-decker buses which are well past their sell-by date. These buses must be 20 years plus in age at least.

Come on Sandeson, we only get a bus every hour and every two hours at the weekend so please make sure they run.
