Resignation
Mrs S Beak resigned from being a Parish Councillor
due to work commitments. Mr Mallett thanked Mrs Beak
for all her hard work.
Election Of Officers
Mr Mallett took the Chair, as the retiring Chairman.
Mr Mallett explained that after seven years and his
other work commitments, that he would not stand as
chairman again this year. The Parish Council thanked
Mr Mallett for all his hard work as the Chairman of
the Council.
All Councillors welcomed Miss Riley as the new Chairman.
Chairman’s Report
Youth Initiative – At the CCA meeting it had
been decided to use the Tennis Courts as the area
for the new skate park. More details were being sought
and funding looked into. The Youth Club were looking
for volunteers to help run the evenings.
Allotments
Mrs Thrussell reported that 47 plots let with 13 spare
and 61 - 85 were down to grass. The skip had been
and gone and it had been well used. The Clerk to organise
the cutting of the grass in the middle of the site,
to keep this area tidy.
Highways
Mr Haines reported that nothing had been done with
the concrete posts and wire lying in the verge by
Ling Road. The Clerk to write to Highways again. The
bollard by the garage had been replaced. Further Doggy
Bins had been requested to help with the problems
of dogs’ mess. One to be installed near the
Football field. The Culvert was very nearly completed.
Planning & Footpaths
Planning - 2 applications in circulation including
Flagship Housing application for 8 dwellings on the
Ling Road Estate. This was mainly for social housing
for people with connections in the village. Over the
next 5 years 38 houses would be built in the village.
Footpaths - All vegetation on the footpaths will
be cut shortly.
Correspondence
1. Mr Alan Groves planned to organise the Annual Charity
Run on the Friday, 18th July. He also asked permission
for the use of the toilet facilities on the Football
Field.
2. A letter had been received from the Cricket Club
explaining their plans over the next year including
starting up a Youth Cricket Team.
3. CCA had written regarding the Disabled Access to
the Village Hall and requesting a grant from the Parish
Council. It was agreed to set aside the re-cycling
money to the value of £1,000.
Any Other Business
1. The give way sign has been knocked down in Great
Hautbois – The Clerk to get the sign replaced.
2. The seat will be cemented by the end of this month.
3. Cars have been driving around the football field.
Sgt Kett to be contacted.
4. No article was in the last issue of the Marlpit
although a representative was present at the meeting.
The Parish to ask why the Marlpit is anti Coltishall
Parish Council.
5. Norfolk County Council – a letter to be written
regarding the road closure and three separate road
works all at the same time within the area causing
problems with access, local businesses etc.
