| Starting off on a rather sad note, I have
to report the death of Doctor David R M Heighton,
the President of the Norwich Diocesan Association
of Ringers, who died suddenly and unexpectedly at
his home in Saxlingham Nethergate. A memorial service
was held for him at St Peter Mancroft Norwich on Saturday
28th June at 2 pm. An invited band rang a Quarter
Peal after the service, and we offer our condolences
to the family and friends.
On a happier note we rang out the wedding bells for
Simon and Emma on 26th April. A lovely song ‘Morning
Has Broken’, which I haven't heard for a long
time was sung loud and clear, and which we all enjoyed
listening to in the Bell Tower! There were four bridesmaids
and as the photographs were being taken the sun shone
through the clouds and the cameras snapped away merrily.
As usual we wish them much happiness in their new
life together.
