| The helpers in the
Friends had a very enjoyable day at the combined church
fete held in Horstead on Saturday, 7th June and following
some superb support in the donation of items and articles
for our tables at the fete – we should have
had only one table but the amount was so great we
needed four in total! – and with the wonderful
attendance on the day we ended up with a nett total
of just over £122. This is a very good amount
and will be added to our fund money. Thank you to
all concerned.
We are also well indebted to ‘The Skeyton Goat
Classic Car and Motorcycle Club’ members. These
worthies are based at the well-known local hostelry
and annually hold a rally to display their vehicles
and compete against each other for pride of place
for the champion showpiece. This year the rally was
held on Sunday, 11th May and as a result of their
collections, cheques were donated to several local
causes. The Chairman handed a cheque in the magnificent
sum of £1,200 to Dr Chris Malpas to be added
to the Friends funds with a new Autoclave being in
mind for the surgery to improve the services available
in both surgeries.
For those of you interested in the motor theme, the
first place was taken by a 41 year old Porsche 326
whilst a very shiny 1931 Austin took second. A splendid
looking Humber came third with a most hearty sounding
Panther motorcycle being pronounced winner in that
class. Check out the Skeyton Goat for further details.
More evenings of entertainment are planned for later
in the year and details of these will be made known
when all has been confirmed. Thank you all for your
kind support.
