Peter Bates, a Marlpit volunteer for many years, has decided to retire so that he can concentrate on his other commitments. During his time with the Marlpit, Peter has held, among other things, the posts of Marlpit Editor, Secretary, Bulk Distributor and Deliverer. The Editors are very grateful to Peter for his valuable input over the past years and we look forward to welcoming him back, if and when he feels he has time to return.

This, in turn, means that we now require volunteers to cover his work. Peter currently undertakes several jobs, which can be split up.

He currently delivers on several routes:

• Frettenham Road – all the houses from the cottages next to the Old Forge up to the Council Houses

• Several copy deliveries for Largate, Island Garage, Coltishall Primary School, Londis, Coltishall Cabs, Horstead Centre and the Church

• Unstapled copies to staplers in Largate and Horstead.
