• Bonfires Again •
June 2003

I would just like to say a big thank you to the person who lives on Norwich Road, Horstead - they will know who they are!

They had an enormous bonfire all afternoon on Saturday 10th May which left pieces of ash the size of 20p pieces all over our garden in Causeway Drive (and those of most of St Margaret's Close as well, I should imagine).

As someone who works all week, this is the only opportunity to get my washing dry and to get the gardening done. I had to take all of my washing in as it was getting filthy and almost had to give up on cutting the grass because of the smoke.

Unfortunately, there is nothing to be done about inconsiderate neighbours like this except to appeal to their better nature and hope that they will not do it again.

Would the culprit please take note.
