I would like to thank Jackie Elvin for responding regarding the New Years Eve function and for her acceptance that they should have taken telephone numbers in order that people could be notified in the event of cancellation.

Running the Social Club must be similar to running the Marlpit in some ways. We all do it without being paid because we want to contribute to community life and improve it where possible. I agree with Jackie that we do have facilities in this village, such as the Social Club, that others can only dream of and if these functions are not supported then we are in danger of losing them.

How can we help?

The Marlpit will certainly promote forthcoming Social Club events by publishing details in the magazine. We can also publish details of joining fees etc. and Jackie has been invited to submit a promotional feature for inclusion in next months Marlpit.
