The next general meeting of B.O.P.P. which is open to all over 55’s, will be on Wednesday,
21st May, 2.00 - 4.30 pm at Spixworth Methodist Church, Godfrey Road.

The subjects will be:
· How to remain in your own home
· How to be safe and secure
· What is available to support you
· Alternatives on offer - e.g. Housing with care schemes.

Afternoon teas will be served, subsidised price £1. Booking is essential - please contact Margaret Hardingham on 01603 427446.

What Is B.O.P.P.?

The organisation called the Broadland Older People’s Partnership was set up in the early part of 2002. Widely advertised public meetings were held in various parts of Broadland District Council Area, and volunteers from these audiences formed a committee of twelve members.

The committee drew up a Draft Constitution, and this was adopted at the first General Meeting held in November 2002. The Aims of the Organisation were stated as follows:

· To form an independent body

 

 

 

· To challenge, advise and comment on the development of services used by older people
· To provide a focal point for the different statutory agencies within Broadland to consult and liase with the representatives (organisations and individuals) of older people
· To raise the profile of older people within the district.

Full membership of the organisation is open to individuals aged 55 and over, residing m the Broadland District Council area who are interested in furthering the organisation’s aims.

To obtain full membership, which includes voting rights, completed membership forms must be received not less than 21 days before a meeting.

Membership is free to all who are eligible.

Non-voting Associate Membership is open to statutory and voluntary organisations working within Broadland District Council Area.
