• They Thought It Was All Over •

November 2002

As was reported in last month's Mai1pit I was very happy with the amount I was able to send to the Children's Hospice at Quidenham resulting from the Mike Groves Run 2002 held in July. But recently in the post came a welcome surprise.

Two members of the Arsenal Supporters Club who ran in the event sent me a cheque for £85 obtained from sponsorship, this I duly passed on pushing the total to £1046.03. Then a couple of evenings later a phone call from another Arsenal supporter asking for my address as he too had got sponsorship to the tune of £135. When I thanked him and said that the total was now £1,181 he added another £18 of his own. A further £8 was given by a local to reach a total of £1,207.

Will it ever end? Please God, No!

Alan T Groves

PS. For those not used to Premiership football The Arsenal won the league and cup double last year and could well do the same this year.
