Extracts from the Draft Minutes of a meeting of Horstead Parish Council in the Tithe Barn on Wednesday 9th October 2002.

Tree Felling at Pond - The licence to proceed has been received and Mr M Satchell of Ormesby has been authorised to carry out the work as soon as possible. Mr Benton had obtained the price for replacement trees and gave an estimate of £40 to include posts, ties etc.

Footpath No 4 - A copy of the revised Modification Order had been received. This order corrects the technical deficiencies identified by the Inspector at the hearing on 26th June. Notices will be posted in the local press and displayed at each end of the footpath from 11th October 2002.

Mill - An on-site meeting was held on 17th September with the Environment Agency, Broads Authority and members of the Mill Committee to discuss the proposed electrification of the equipment as reported last month. The meeting also discussed the edge of the car park where small craft were being launched, the silting of the Mill Pool and erosion of pool along Mill Road. The Broads Authority would be using the grant awarded by NEWS to restore the beach area and dredge out the pool.
