• A Dog Is Man's Best Friend •
October 2002

Once again, under the above heading this is an appeal to all dog handlers to prevent their pets from fouling our pavements, footpaths, common land and other places of recreational activity.

What is more worrying is the practice of some dog owners of using our two Coltishall playing fields for the purpose of letting dogs 'do their jobs' where young children play.

Witnesses have seen vehicles pull into the large football field letting dogs free to do their business, then collecting the animal and driving away.

The most enlightened will know that contact with dog excrement can cause a young person irreparable harm and even death.

Therefore if we value our pets, let us also treasure the children.
