October 2002

September was our Annual Appeal month - should you have missed our collector and would like to give to this appeal please telephone Sue Blackburn on 737495. To those of you who have already given to help The Salvation Army's social work in our Country we say 'Thank You'.

Sunday, 6th October will be our Harvest Festival Celebrations. The leaders for our meetings at 11am and 3pm are Majors Noel and Florence Baker from Sheringham. You are welcome to come along and share in these special meetings.

Our HARVEST SUPPER and Auction will be on Monday, 7th October at 7pm. Tickets available at £2.50 for Adults and £2 for children. Please contact Daphne Blake on 736774.

Our CORPS ANNIVERSARY is on Sunday, 20th October when our meetings at 11am and 3pm will be led by Captain Les Walgrove and Bury St Edmunds Band. Many of you will remember that Captain Walgrove was our officer here at Coltishall a few years ago. Again we would invite you to share in our celebrations and to meet with the Captain.

The Ecumenical Songs of Praise will be held at 6.30pm on Sunday, 27th October - this is open to anyone and you would be made very welcome. Come along and sing your favourite hymn.

There will be only one MiniMarket with Light Refreshments this month and it will be held on Tuesday, 15th October from 9.30am till 11.30am. (Tel: 01603 737326).

Coffee Mornings will be held on Tuesdays, 1st, 8th, 22nd, and 29th October from 9.30am till 11.30am. Why not come along and enjoy a cup of coffee (or tea!) and a chat.

The Over 60's Club will take place on Mondays 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th October commencing at 2.30pm. If you would like to attend and need transport please telephone 737326.

We are now able to receive your good quality clothing and bric-a-brac again - these items can be dropped off at The Salvation Army Hall any Tuesday between 9am and 11.30am or if you need them collected please telephone Mrs Ann Beaver on 01603 737326 to arrange.

Luncheon Club will take place each Wednesday in October at 12.30pm. If you know anyone who would benefit from attending this Luncheon Club (transport can be arranged) or if you would like to attend yourself, please contact Envoy on 737152.

LADIES FELLOWSHIP will be on Monday, 28th October at 8pm - our special guest for the evening will be Frances Middleton who will tell us about her visit to Bangladesh and show us some slides. If you have never been to one of our meetings or you used to attend you would be especially welcome to come along and share with us. Our meetings are very friendly and informal and are open to any lady - you do not have to belong to the Salvation Army to attend.

PLEASE NOTE - our Christmas Fayre will be on Saturday, 16th November from 11am - 2pm.
