• Extracts from the Draft Minutes of the Coltishall Parish Council Meeting
Village Hall, Rectory Road, Coltishall Monday, 1st September 2003 •
October 2003

Footpaths along Great Hautbois Road. The letter from Norfolk County Council was read out regarding stopping work on the completion of the footpath due to the ownership of the small strip of land by the Parish Council which was held in Trust. The Parish Council agreed that the footpath could go on Hautbois Common as a benefit to the Parishioners.

Youth Initiative - The first youth club meeting was to be held shortly. Volunteers were still needed to help run the club, which would meet on a monthly basis. A tuck shop would be provided. Each session would cost £6 and would run from 7 to 9 pm. A grant was being sought for start up costs. Congratulations to Mrs D Snelling for all her hard work.

Allotments - The grass in the middle of the site, to keep this area tidy, had been cut. Mr Wright had been requested to quote for the repairs to the gates on the site. One had been badly damaged. The skip from Broadland District Council had not arrived and the Clerk will chase up and seek another date as soon as possible.

Highways - Mr Haines reported that the wire laying in the verge by Ling Road had been removed, although the concrete posts were to remain. The Clerk will write to Highways. Further Doggy Bins had been requested to help with the problems of dogs’ mess. One to be installed near the Football field. The Clerk to ask Broadland District council to empty the Doggy bins by the

common. Rats had been seen around the bins. The repairs to the footpaths are on the schedule of the highways department. Several signs in the village were broken, it had been requested that these be repaired. Gritting bins to be looked into on the Ling Way estate, Rectory Road, Doctors surgery and school entrance road.

Planning - The Flagship Housing application for 8 dwellings on the Ling Road Estate had been given permission. This was mainly for social housing for people with connections in the village. Mr Germany was seeking agreement in principle from the Parish council for a Free Range Chicken Farm. This was agreed.

TARMAC Application - Mr A Murdo left the room. After discussing the reduced application from Tarmac the Parish Council voted 5 Objections and 1 No Objection.

Playing Fields - There were no plans to sell the playing fields which were held in Trust. This was only a rumour. The Allotment site could not be redeveloped either.

RAF Coltishall - 30th Anniversary - the free tickets given to the Parish Council were handed out.

Football field car park - The CCA were responsible for the up keep of both of the car parks and any money donated by the Parish Council and the fee charged for the Post Office parking vans on the site was to be used to repair either car park.

Trees on Rectory Road - Are growing taller than the telephone poles. Check to see if these can be cut back.

Complaints had been received regarding parking on the footpaths by the users of the Small Playing Field.
