October 2003

We currently have 3 teams in the North East Norfolk League at Under 8, Under 9, Under 10 levels. We also have several youngsters training every Saturday morning from 9.30 to 11.00 am who are generally age 5 - 7 years and are not involved in the league games.

We need some help with training the youngsters (5 - 7 years) on a Saturday morning particularly when there is a match for the Under 8’s. The training at this age is, of necessity, fairly basic and you do not need a high level of football skill or fitness to be of assistance, although people with such abilities are more than welcome.

If you are willing to give up 1½ hours of your time on a Saturday morning then please call me on 01603 737637.

Under 8’s

Unfortunately most of our Under 8 squad are in fact still under 7 years and this season will be one of experience rather than expectation.

On Saturday 13th September we played our first two matches:

Coltishall v Cromer
Having scored an early goal through Ben Douglass we were subsequently beaten 5 - 1 by Cromer. Cromer were the more experienced side who had one particularly talented individual,

significantly wearing a Number 7 shirt, whom we found it difficult to stop.

Wendene v Coltishall
Two goals from George Pennington (1 penalty) were not enough to prevent us losing 3 - 2. Resolute performances by our goalkeeper, Charlie Shepherd and Harvey Marczewski-Newman in defence prevented Wendene from scoring in the second half during which we fought hard to equalise.
